Secret Rave Photobook


In Fall 2024, I set out to document the Lansing electronic music scene. Concurrently, my friend Rin was building a collective of electronic music artists called Secret Rave. Through this collective, they aimed to create a safe, inclusive space for queer and transgender people to celebrate music, especially work created by LGBTQ+ artists. 

My photobook is a collection of curated photos that show community, the excitement brought by a blossoming local scene, and joy of self-expression. I also wish to recognize the importance of spaces where LGBTQ+ people can feel seen and heard, especially at a time when several world leaders are working to supress their visibility.
